Boxwood Replacement

Est. May, 2024

Once again in the beautiful Longmoor neighbourhood, this sunny home entrance started with a row of dead boxwoods, goutweed, and overgrown couch grass and rose bushes. At the shady side of the home, an empty raised bed was ready to welcome some perennials!

What our clients wanted:

Replace the dead boxwoods with another border

Remove the couch grass and goutweed

Prune the existing shrubs

Plant the raised bed

What we did:

Removed boxwoods, couch grass, and goutweed

Pruned the rose bushes and yew

Edged a new garden bed for symmetrical planting on both sides of the entrance path

Lined the entrance path with cedar shrubs and pollinator perennials

Installed medicinal and edible plants in the shady raised garden bed including blueberry, strawberry, and chives

This project presented a very cool challenge for us: weeding the couch grass amongst the thicket of roses! Nevertheless, we had a great time transforming the space and made it out with just a couple pricks here and there! We're looking forward to the summer blooms of this garden install. And are MOST excited for our clients' whole family to pick berries from their raised bed.

"What a big change! We're so happy with it and will reach out again sometime next year for our next project!"
