Formal Rain Management
Est. August, 2025
This formal-style garden space in the Durand neighbourhood was previously home to boxwoods, invasive groundcovers, and a brick patio that pooled water & ice in storms.

What our clients wanted:
A more environmentally friendly space
Storm water management
Formal designs
What we did:
To evoke the previous formal style, planted uniform rows of Canada Yew, Coral Bells, and Moss Phlox.
Created a infiltration trench with the existing clay brick and permeable jointing sand (Romex Ecofine). Managing the storm water collecting in that space.
Pruned the existing shrubs and transplanted some plants for a cohesively designed space.

Converting an old patio into permeable patio/infiltration trench is such a gift to us! It's just so fun making attractive "drains" that doubles as usable space.
"This looks incredible, I'm absolutely thrilled!"
